My name is Ida Strandlund and I grew up in Sundsvall, Sweden. Since a few years back I’ve been calling Mallorca my home. I live in a small house in the Tramuntana mountains, not far from the sea, with my cat Yazmine.
Before arriving here I was a leaf for the wind (or perhaps a seed is a better analogy), travelling, studying and working around the world, gathering inspiration wherever I landed, just to again lift off, take flight and navigate with the up-winds to the next location. Some places I just travelled through, others I ended up calling my home for a while. From all of them I collected culinary knowledge and many, many recipes.
Here, on this diverse mediterranean island, I’ve put down roots and since 2021 I run Cure/ate by Ida Strandlund, offering private chef services, small scale catering, cooking classes and more.
Food and everything connected to it is my passion. In high season; April till November, I cook for old and new clients around the island, and in low season I work on developing new culinary ideas, art project and, from now on, my blog.
When I’m not working I love to spend time in nature; in the mountains hiking, on a field foraging or under the surface of the mediterranean sea snorkling, freediving and spearfishing.
I’ve created this blog as a forum for my culinary low-season explorations. Here, I mean to share the experiences and inspiration I gather on and off the island.
I hope you will enjoy taking part of my discoveries as much as I do.
Sounds amazing!
Just as good after surf as well 😉
